Box Design 401 and similar

This system was specifically designed to handle the boxes F401 or similar (e.g. 402, 403, etc.), sealed lengthwise in the centre and with front and back flaps to be closed on the outside of the box.

A perfect solution to pack: profiles, skirting boards, door jambs, panels, etc. and all items featuring long and narrow shapes.
According to the type of boxes to be processed, the system usually features a station, which provides for the perfect forming and closing of the box:

FORMING AND CLOSING STATION F401

Since long and narrow items are usually packed in stacks, the stacking operations can also be automated by implementing a handling robot to position the items on top of the open box.

Working Stations

1

Product Prep Station

Product Prep Station

Area in which the loose items are prepared by an operator. In this area also transport protections may be applied if required.

2

Measuring Station

Measuring Station

The items are measured automatically or by hand and the data is then submitted to the  packaging machine to launch production of the right sized box.

3

Box Procurement

Box Procurement

If the production process requires large batches, the boxes can be supplied by a box manufacturer and stored on pallets/racks next to coupling station run by an operator.

4

Box Forming

Box Forming

Area in which the bottom of the boxes is formed automatically, mainly for box designs  F410, F401 or bottom and lid designs. An operator must be assigned to form the box manually, if this section is not automated.

5

Coupling of Box & Item

Coupling of Box & Item

The operator positions the item by hand into the box previously formed with the forming station FM410. If this process is automated, a handling robot positions the item on top of the flat box.

6

Box Closing

Box Closing

Depending on the level of automation requested, the boxes containing the item(s) are closed in this section. It is possible to implement automatic closing stations, such as the CM410 or Varypack, which use hotmelt glue to seal the boxes. Or the station F401 which uses adhesive tape to seal the boxes.

7

Labelling

Labelling

Station that automatically applies the label to the box. Different options for labelling are available: On the side, on the lid, at 90°, etc. The label can also be applied by an operator.

8

Palletizing

Palletizing

This is generally the last station of automated packaging system. A high level of automation can be achieved by implementing robots and it is possible to manage numerous unloading stations for the boxes.
